Tidal Rave 2025: Highlights, Performances & More! | Ghana's Biggest Beach Festival (2025)

Tidal Rave 2025: A Wild Ride of Music, Memories, and a Touch of Controversy

On November 15, 2025, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel transformed into a vibrant hub of music and culture as the Tidal Rave Festival concluded its second and final day. Thousands of enthusiastic attendees, hailing from Ghana and beyond, converged on the beach, turning the coastline into a dynamic playground of sound, art, and youthful energy. But here's where it gets interesting...

Organized by Echo House, Tidal Rave has rapidly evolved into what many consider the premier beach festival on the continent. The 2025 edition, themed "The Wild Card," embraced the unpredictable spirit of the UNO game, infusing surprises into its creative direction.

One of the most memorable moments was when Shatta Wale surprised female fans with brand-new phones, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

As the day unfolded, the venue gradually filled with revellers adorned in beachwear, neon accents, and custom merchandise, all ready for a day of immersive experiences. The anticipation was palpable, and the energy was electric.

Black Sherif, a Ghanaian artist, took the main stage around 5 PM, delivering an energetic performance that had fans singing along to tracks from his "Iron Boy" album. Despite initial doubts about punctuality, the organizers kept their word, and Black Sherif took the stage just minutes after the scheduled time.

The lineup continued to impress with performances from Gyakie, Moliy, GonaBoy, and Kweku Smoke. Ayra Starr brought an international flair to the event, and her arrival in Ghana earlier in the week had already created a buzz.

Gyakie's performance was particularly well-received, with her set creating a warm and intimate atmosphere. Kweku Smoke, declared himself the "Hip Hop King," delivering a standout performance filled with crowd control and hit after hit.

But here's a point that might spark some debate: OlivetheBoy's performance, which included a 'bed performance', became a hot topic of conversation.

Ayra Starr's set, which began at midnight, was another highlight. The Nigerian musician commanded the stage, performing songs like "Hot Body" and "Who's Dat Girl."

Tidal Rave truly embraced its identity as a cultural space, with art villages showcasing local creators, food stalls serving delicious jollof, grilled tilapia, and cocktails, and interactive zones that kept people entertained throughout the day.

However, the night wasn't without its criticisms. The prompt start of Black Sherif's performance raised expectations, but a long wait followed GonaBoy and Lalid's sets as organizers prepared a new set design for Ayra Starr. Attendees grew restless during the roughly 40-minute setup, exacerbated by Ayra Starr's DJ playing music for another half hour without the performer on stage.

Despite the delays, the overall performance quality was high. Ayra Starr delivered as expected, Gyakie's choreography was visually appealing, Kweku Smoke kept the crowd engaged, and DJ Vyrusky with Hypeman Kojo Manuel brought a dose of nostalgia.

While daytime attendance was initially low, the grounds were packed by evening, with the energy that a beach festival should have.

The Tidal Rave experience proved to be worthwhile, with the music, security, creative direction, and various experiential zones all living up to the festival's reputation.

What do you think? Did the delays impact your experience? Were the performances worth the wait? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
