DiJonai Carrington Injury Update: Road to Recovery & Future Plans! (2025)

DiJonai Carrington Provides Encouraging Update on Recovery from Foot Injury That Sideline Lynx Star

DiJonai Carrington, a standout player in the WNBA, shared a hopeful update about her rehabilitation from a foot injury that sidelined her this season. The Minnesota Lynx guard suffered a significant mid-foot sprain in her left foot during a September game against the Golden State Valkyries, which ended her 2025 campaign early.

The upcoming offseason will center on Carrington’s full recovery and body care. Unrivaled Basketball announced that the 2024 Most Improved Player will miss the league’s second season, although she remains a key part of the Lynx squad, alongside teammates Breanna Stewart, Allisha Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, Veronica Burton, Alanna Smith, and Li Yueru.

On X (formerly Twitter), Carrington revealed a positive medical report from her doctor. She wrote: “2 months post-op today and doc said everything looks great. long way to go but a long way from where I started— mentally & physically. small wins.” This update reflects progress after surgery aimed at repairing the injury.

Earlier in November, Carrington offered fans a glimpse into her recovery journey via Instagram, sharing progress updates and emotional milestones. She even posted about walking without a boot for the first time, a moment she described with heartfelt emotion as she reached six weeks post-op and began bearing weight again.

Carrington began the 2025 season with the Dallas Wings but was traded mid-season. In 11 games for her new club, she averaged 8.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.

Looking ahead, Carrington has stated that a return to on-court play in 2026 remains the ultimate goal. In the meantime, she’s exploring other avenues to stay engaged with the sport and her audience during the long offseason. In October, she discussed possibilities beyond basketball with TMZ Sports, mentioning plans to leverage social media, streaming, and other creative outlets, including fashion and beauty ventures.

Carrington has consistently shown interest in fashion and beauty, frequently sharing outfits on her Instagram. With a lengthy offseason to fill, she’s likely to stay active and connected to fans, even as basketball activities pause.

Would you like to see Carrington focus on specific off-court ventures (such as streaming games, fashion campaigns, or beauty tutorials), or should the emphasis remain on her rehabilitation and eventual return to the court? Share your thoughts in the comments.
